I have been fortunate enough to work with a talented and amazing group of people known as the Barbers without Borders. Based in Newport, Kentucky, Barber Spanky Caudill and Stylist Joshua Wagner are the two men responsible for beginning such a selfless, non-profit to target disadvantaged youth in their community and across the world. Though it's much more than just a haircut, Caudill and Wagner's idea was to help individuals help themselves by making them feel better about their appearance and ultimately feel better about their situation. They provide people in other countries, who aren't as fortunate as others with tools, equipment and a place to learn & grow as a barber. Ricky Willis, a videographer and I had the pleasure of documenting this rad day at The Sanctuary in Costa Mesa. You can see what those guys are all about by clicking here.
Dre Perales, owner of Tip Top Barbershop and Black Market Art collaborated with Barbers without Borders this past Saturday for the backpack drive at The Sanctuary Church. The event was a total success! 11 barbers, 5 hours, 126 haircuts and 800 backpacks were handed out to the children to start their school year out right!!
There is so many amazing things to say about this group of people that I am grateful to call my friends. Check out their WEBSITE to learn more.
